Growing up on a ranch in Southern Idaho,
Rock Newcomb developed a love of nature and the natural world. He began
drawing at age 5 and went on to receive advanced degrees in art and
teach art prior to becoming a full time fine artist. Rock is now
Arizona based, and paints southwest still lifes, landscapes, and
wildlife.
Rock Newcomb's work can be found in
several fine galleries, invitational juried exhibits and private
collections. He is a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists,
Wildlife Artists Associates, and International Society of Acrylic
Painters.
Rock Newcomb paints with acrylics
on a very smooth surface called clayboard which allows him the fine
detail he achieves in his work. His subjects have recently been
narrowed to two central themes: historical and prehistorical artifacts
or wildlife. Most still life paintings of artifacts are accompanied by a
statement of history and context, giving Rock's work even more interest
and depth.
We at
the Big Horn Galleries are proud to represent the fine work of Rock
Newcomb and hope you will consider his work for your collection.
