The Big Horn Galleries is pleased to present the work of artist John Potter. A Native of northern Wisconsin, John Potter grew up fostering a love for the natural world among the verdant forests and sparkling lakes of the great Northwoods.
Since graduating from Utah State University with degrees in illustration and painting in the early 80's, Potter has made his living as a full time artist and has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards. He was honored as the 2007 Artist in Residence at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming. He was once again honored there in 2008 as the winner of the Robert Kuhn Award. In 2010 he won the Legacy Award at the Northwest Rendezvous Group's Western Rendezvous of Art.
John is a member of the Putney Painters, the Society of Animal Artist, the Salmagundi Club, and a Signature Member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.
We are confident that you will enjoy his work as much as we do.
