Raised
on cattle ranches on the Montana-Wyoming border, Crystal Lenhart
expresses her love for the West in colored-pencil works rendered on
sandpaper. Lenhart has no formal art training but has always drawn and
studied art. She is an international award winner and has had her work
accepted into numerous juried exhibits.
"I see my art as
a combination of an innate artist knowing, fine craftsmanship, and hard
work. To create art is a basic essential of life; it's just part of who
I am. If others can also appreciate and relate to my perspective, that
makes it even more worthwhile. I try not to make it more complicated
than that."
Crystal,
a Wyoming native, also carries on her family's tradition of roping and
riding. She is the mother of an active family participating in 4-H,
ranch roping, and rodeo.
